Vacuums, Gasses, and the Road to UX Management

We took a short break in April, but we’re back for a May event you shouldn’t miss. Jack Moffett has been managing UX teams for years and will be sharing what it’s like to make that transition and why you might want to consider it.

We hope to be meeting in-person again soon, but this event will still be virtual. “Doors open” at 5:30, and the talk will start at 6:00. Please join us!

About the Talk

The first time I attended a conference with my new title, I was asked by another attendee, “What does a UX manager do?” Just a couple years later, UX managers are in high demand, but what experience is needed for such a role, and how do you know if you’ll be happy filling it? I’ll share my journey from design practitioner to manager and provision you some food for thought on your own road. We need more design managers; why not you?

About Jack

Jack is a UX manager in Boeing Global Services’ Customer Experience organization where he is supporting DesignOps efforts for Training & Professional Services. In that time, he has designed software tools for Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Shell, DaimlerChrysler, Eaton, and many organizations within the U.S. military, including Joint Service Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Naval Reactors, and NCIS.
