Clear the Air: UX & Engineering

  • Code & Supply 5648 Friendship Ave, 3rd Floor Pittsburgh, PA (map)

Most contemporary product development teams employ both user experience designers and software engineers, but they don’t always agree on how to collaborate or how to deliver a product. UX designers work to build empathy with the people using their product and may not want to “bother” engineers with ideation on improvements and new features. Engineers deeply understand the performance and reliability aspects of the product and might balk at a designer’s naive request to “just move this thing over there.” But at the end of the day, we all just want our product to work best for the people using it. Let’s clear the air and figure out how to best work together!

IxDA Pittsburgh and Code & Supply are collaborating to facilitate an open and frank discussion in which we can really dig into the issues engineers and UX experience in product development teams. We’ll hear from both sides, looking for common ground and empathy. We hope you’ll join us and invite your UX or engineering counterpart to come along.

This event is free to attend, but space is limited, so please register now.
